    Gudmund Hentze was a versatile artist who abandoned a language inspired by the English Pre-Raphaelites and German and French artists. He was trained at the Academy of Arts and the Zahrtmann School of Arts, furthered his studies in Florence, and held exhibitions in various European cities. Hentze excelled in easel painting, book illustration, miniature painting, drawings for embroidery, metal works such as cutlery and ashtrays, interior decorations, and jewelry designs.
