    Günther Petersen was born about 1920 in Westerland - died 2014 German marine and landscape painter, etcher and draftsman. located in Kiel, Graduated 1936-39 apprenticeship as a decorative painter.

    From 1939-45, he participated as a soldier in World War II. Between 1950 to 1956 he studied at the art school in Dusseldorf under Professor Jo Strahn. Then studies in Emil Nolde. Since 1957, he stayed on Sylt, where he worked as a freelance artist. 1967-74 he stayed in Hagen (Westphalia), where he was a member of the artists' association "Hagenring".

    From 1974, study trips to France, England, Denmark, Greece, Yugoslavia, Italy, Tunisia and Corsica. Member of the "Art Room B" and the "BBK Schleswig-Holstein". From 1984, regular st...
