    Gustave Buchet began his artistic training with four years of study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, where he was particularly influenced by Eugène Gilliard. From 1910-11 he attended, for four months, the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris and then returned back to Geneva. Here he founded along with Maurice Barraud and others, the group "Le Falot", the programmatic turned against the overwhelming power of Hodler school.

    On a return visit to Paris in 1916-17, he came under the influence of the Futurists and created a series of images in the novel, provocative forms. Increasing hostility, even for his participation in Dadaist performances, led him in 1920 to leave Geneva and to move to Paris. There ...
