Ni Gusti Agung Galuh was born in Kapal, Banjar Ubud Kelod, Bali, 9 December 1968. She learnt painting from her father, a well known artist from the village of Kapal, West Bali and Walter Spies from which she learnt alot about the use of color shade and light. She is married to a family of painters who taught her further and encourage her painting career. In 1995, she was invited to Koln, Germany where from she continued to travel throughout Europe, visiting museums and galleries to learn about European traditions of arts.
