    Guy Michon (1925 – 1979)

    A prominent French Canadian painter, Guy Michon was born in Montreal, Quebec where he appears to have lived his whole life. He was an associate of Paul-Emile Borduas (see askART) and the Automatistes*, a student of Jacques de Tonnancour (see askART), and a client of Dominion Gallery*. Michon’s works are in the permanent collection of the Quebec Museum of Fine Arts. (1)

    Michon’s primary medium was oil paint applied with a palette knife. His subjects were color, shape, line and texture; in a word: abstraction*. His style was Abstract Expressionism*. His askART record has dozens of excellent illustrations of his typical style.
