Haluk Akakçe was born in Turkey in 1970 and is a contemporary artist living and working in New York. His work explores the intersections between society and technology through video animations, wall paintings and sound installations.

He trained at the Royal College of Art in London and received a B.F.A. in Architecture at Bilkent Unviersity in Ankara. He also studied video and performance art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Akakçe's work has appeared in the Istanbul and San Paulo Biennials, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
