    Hans Kuhn studied from 1924-1926 at Ludwig Meidner in Berlin and from 1926 to 1929 in Paris at Bissière. From 1929-1935 he lived in Italy, where he met Werner Gilles, whose circle of artists he remained connected to later. From 1936 to 1941 he lived in Berlin, where he received in 1937 an exhibition ban. After military service (1941-45) and time as a prisoner of war in Baden-Baden, he was appointed by Karl Hofer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, where he worked until 1974.

    At the suggestion of Karl Hofer, Hans Kuhn was appointed in 1947 to the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. From 1950 on, he departs from strong object-related compositions and strengthens the abstraction tendencies so that he occasio...
