    Hans-Peter Adamski, a German painter, who has also recently worked in video, photography and installation. After completing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf, he traveled to Afghanistan, Indonesia and India (1974-1979).

    In the early 70s, he collaborated with Depot, an artistic group from Cologne. A decade later, he was a key member of another movement, Mülheimer Freiheit, together with Jiri Georg Dokoupil, Walter Dahn and Peter Bömmels.

    “Squares of Longing” (2008) is one of his recent series referring to Kazmir Malevich’s Black Square and, consequently, reflecting on the 100 years of art history after the famous painting.
