    Harold William Townsend (1940 – 2017)

    A western Canadian painter and photographer, Harold William Townsend (aka: Bill Townsend; aka: H. William Townsend) was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and died in Parksville, British Columbia, near where he had lived since the early 1980s.

    His primary medium was oil paint (occasionally accented with gold leaf). His subjects were wilderness landscapes, mountain views, shorelines, figures, and nudes. His style could be described as Fauvism*. The askART auction results have many excellent illustrations of his oeuvre. (1)
