    Fritz Helmut Schmidt, German painter and graphic artist (1909 Aue to 1985 Dresden)

    In 1910 the family moved to Neumark near Reichenbach in Vogtland, here the birth of his brother, the painter Hans-Erich Schmidt-Uphoff,

    lived the Family back in Aue, from 1925 the family lived in Zwickau, 1923 first trip to the Baltic Sea, in the Zwickau art collections, through the exhibitions organized by Hildebrandt Gurlitt,

    first contact with works by Hermann Max Pechstein and Pablo Picasso, participation in the 1928 Exhibition in the Munich Glass Palace, 1929-33 studies at the Technical University of Dresden with Fritz Beckert and studies at the Academy of Applied Arts with Ewald Max Karl Enderlein,

    1930 studied two semeste...
