    Henri Gaston Darien was an Impressionist painter from Normandy, France. He was a pupil of J. Lefebvre and Guillaumet, and was active in the Society of French Artists from 1886. Darien won several prizes, including the bronze medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. He was a member of the Volnay artistic and literary circle in Paris and divided his time between Paris and Yport, where he developed his definitive style. Two of his paintings are displayed at the Petit Palais in Paris. Darien was honored as a Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1910.
