    Henri Louis Levasseur was a French sculptor and craftsman born in Paris in 1853. He studied under Eugene Delaplanche, Emile Thomas, and Auguste Dumont.

    Levasseur began exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1881, and received several awards and medals throughout his career.

    He passed away in 1934.

    Levasseur's works were cast by Societe des Bronzes of Paris, and his works are held in collections around the world, including the Grohmann Museum in Milwaukee, the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina, and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.
