    Henrietta Davidson Bailey biographical photo
    From New Orleans, Henrietta Bailey was active there as a crafts person, designer, painter, printer, and teacher between 1904 and 1938, when she retired. She studied at Newcomb College and with Arthur Dow in Ipswich, Massachusetts.

    She exhibited at the Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1915, and regularly with the Art Association of New Orleans. She was on the faculty of Newcomb College from 1926 to 1938, and also decorated pottery at Newcomb from 1904 to 1938. She received first prizes from the Southern Art League for decorated pottery in 1931 and for a block print in 1932.
