Henryk Musialowicz was born in Gniezno in 1914. From 1930 he studied at the State School of Decorative Arts and the Art Industry in Poznan. In 1936 he was granted a dissertation at the Decorative Painting and Stained-glass Department. In 1937 he took up painting studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of Felicjan Kowarski and Leonard Pekalski (he obtained his diploma under the direction of the first in 1947).
