    Hermann Dischler was born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1866. He studied at the Art School in Karlsruhe from 1885 to 1894, where he became a master student of Gustav Schönleber.

    In the 1890s, he regularly traveled through southern Germany. Especially the Black Forest has drawn his affection. He lived there for quite some time and portrayed the idyllic landscapes in numerous paintings. He usually took photographs as a template.

    Dischler was chairman of the artists' association 'Breisgauer Fünfer' and the 'Freien Künstlervereinigung Baden' as well as the Baden Black Forest Association. In 1917 he was appointed professor by Grand Duke Friedrich II. In addition, he built his own studio in the sou...
