    Hippolyte Prat - painter of portraits, land and seascapes – was born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1863. Although his exact death date is not known, a signed work dated 1914 was sold at Bonhams Knowle (Lot 41, 2011); and a signed painting titled “De naaister” sold at Campo & Campo (Lot 692, 2010) was dated 1925.

    His awards include a gold medal in Paris in 1905 and Laureate of the School of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
