  • Biography

Ibrahim Mahama is a Ghanaian artist born in 1987 in Tamale. He transforms found materials into structural forms that explore themes of global consumerism, migration, and economic exchange. He has opened three educational art institutions in northern Ghana and his solo exhibition Lazarus was staged at White Cube, Bermondsey in 2021. Mahama's vast sack forms have been installed over a variety of buildings in Ghana and have been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale in 2015 and Documenta 14 in 2017
