In 1903, she studied as a student of Adolf Hölzel in the artistic colony in Dachau for five months. In 1908, she studied at the private art school of Adolf Mayer in Berlin and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart as a master student of Adolf Hölzel. From 1920 to 1923, she spent the winter semesters at the Bauhaus in Weimar and studied with Johannes Itten, Georg Muche, Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee and other well-known artists. Her work was classified as 'degenerate' during the Third Reich and a big part of her oeuvre from the period before 1945 has been destroyed by a bomb attack. She died in 1970.... Read full biography
