    Ismael Blat was born in 1901.

    Ismael Blat i Monzó specialized in traditional themes, portraits, still lifes and flowers.

    Blat's style tends to stand out for the elegance of his models.

    In 1913 he began to work in the ceramics factory of Gregorio Muñoz Dueñas de Manises, where he was in charge of drawing the tiles. It is there where he gained his fame as a ceramic painter.

    Two years later Ismael began to work at the Justo Vilar Ceramic Factory. Apart from these jobs, he complemented his studies at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts, where he received night drawing classes and where he had Isidoro Granelo Fillol and Constantino Gómez Salvador as teachers.
