    The following information was submitted by the artist's widow, Rachel Roth:

    Jack Roth (1927-2004) got a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Duke University and was an artist for 50 years. He won a Guggenheim fellowship in painting in 1979, and showed his work at M. Knoedler from 1979-1986. He was NewTalent Graphic artist of the year 1963 in Art in America. He never did serigraphs. Typically he painted very large acrylic abstract expressionist paintings. He is a very early Second Generation abstract expressionist, showing at the Guggenheim Museum in1954 with Pollock, Motherwell, Kline, deKooning, etc.
