    Painter and Illustrator who worked in oil, watercolor and tempera doing
    portraits, murals, port scenes and religious iconography. He was the son of a
    pre-revolutionary Russian Army General. He studied at the Nicholas Calvary School
    and the Russian Imperial Academy in St. Petersburg and served in the White
    Russian Army. Between the time he came to the U.S., he worked as a cartoonist
    for the North China Daily News in Shanghai. He moved to Seattle in 1923. He
