    Jacques Antoine Arlaud was born in Geneva in 1668 passed away in Switzerland in 1746. Jacques started his artistic career by painting small ornamental miniatures. He moved to Paris when he was around twenty years old and received patronage from The Duke of Orleans. Arlaud also painted the portrait of the Princess of Wales during his visit to England. He settled in Geneva by 1729 and some of his works can be found in the Library and Museum of Geneva. Jacques' own portrait is in the Uffizi Gallery located in Florence, Italy.
