    Jacques Fourcy (1906-1990)

    He began painting at a very very young age, when he was about 12 years old and immediately felt in love with painting mountains, the Alps in France and Switzerland.

    He was an engineer for the Central Paris high school and then worked for PLM (previously SNCF), a railway company (Paris to Marseille). Almost all holidays were spent in Chamonix Mont-Blanc!

    He was an officer during the second world war and was a prisoner for 4 years, before returning to France because of his health (eye disease. cataracts).

    He belonged to the "Société des peintres de montagne".

    When he retired he went almost every where in the world where there are mountains: Himal...
