    James Bourne was a British landscape painter who worked primarily in watercolour. He began his career as a drawing master at the end of the 18th century and was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy and Royal Manchester Institution in the early 1800s. In 1848 he gave up art to become a Methodist Minister, relocating to the West Midlands.
