    James W. Milliken

    Painted rural scenes of Britain - its villages and cottages; and continental scenes, especially of Belgium and Venice, and especially of markets, and in the case of Belgium, markets associated with cathedrals and churches. Only watercolors are known. The artist is often identified as "James W Milliken", which confusion is dealt with in a quote from Sulis Fine Arts:

    "Joseph William Milliken was a Liverpool born landscape artist who also painted continental scenes in watercolours. Milliken exhibited many times at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and also showed at Royal Academy and Royal Cambrian Academy. There has been some confusion about his first name (Joseph or James) but government records show that ...
