    Jan Hillebrand Wijsmuller ( Amsterdam , February 13 1855 - Amsterdam, May 23 1925 ) was a Dutch painter of mostly landscapes and cityscapes. He enrolled in the drawing class at Felix Meritis, school on one of the main canals in Amsterdam. Then he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam (1876-1877), the Academy in The Hague and the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels.

    In 1883 he won the Willink Collen Price, a prize for young painters. He belonged to the late Hague School style of painting.

    Wijsmuller was a member of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. He formed together with Ernst Witkamp, Nicolaas van der Waay, Carel Dake and some others MAB Company (named after Michelangelo Buonarroti ).
