    Janos Czencz, also known as Johannes Czencz, was a Hungarian painter born in 1885 Ostffyasszonyfa / Vas. He studied from 1907-19 at the Budapest Academy with Aladár (Adolar) Edvi-Illés, László (Ladislaus) Hegedûs and Tivadar (Theodor) Zemplényi. He sent exhibitions from 1908 and received various honors such as the Izidor Halmos Prize in 1913, the Rudits Prize in 1918, the bronze medal in Florence in 1920, and the Benkö Prize in 1921. He received exemption from judging his works at exhibitions in 1935 and then was active in Budapest until 1945 after the destruction of his house during World War II. He moved to his summer house in Báta in the Tolna district. He was represented in the Hungarian National Gallery and sent exhibitions in VeniVollmer, Bénézit, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon" , AKL and information from the János Czencz Memorial Museum in Báta....
