    Jean Dreyfus-Stern, was born as Jean Maurice Dreyfus in the 10th arrondissement of Paris on December 20, 1890. Attracted to painting at a very early age, Jean Dreyfus-Stern became a pupil of Charles-François-Prosper Guérin (for painting) and Bernard Naudin (for engraving) before attending the Colarossi Academy and the workshops of Maurice Denis and Antoine Bourdelle. A member of the Salon d'automne since 1920 and the Salon des indépendants since 1923. He also exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries from 1924 and in Copenhagen, The Hague, Madrid and Tokyo (1928). The son of a banker, living comfortably on his annuities, Jean Dreyfus-Stern was not in the financial need to sell his paintings, nor was he concerned about becoming a celebri...
