    Jean-François Arrigoni Neri was a French painter, illustrator, and lithographer known for his evocative Orientalist scenes and expressive figurative compositions. Arrigoni Neri was born in Paris in 1937 and began his formal artistic training at the École Estienne at the age of fourteen. He graduated in 1955, receiving the Prix Cortot for engraving.

    After working for a decade as a professional engraver, Jean-François Arrigoni Neri transitioned into illustration. He produced advertising campaigns and book covers for major French publishers, including Gallimard, Hachette, and Larousse. His illustrative style ranged from realistic to stylized, often drawing comparisons to Norman Rockwell.
