    Jean Krille was born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1923. His creative expression ranged from art and architecture to philosophy and politics. Jean was also involved in humanitarian work with the International Committee of the Red Cross.

    Krille studied at the École des Arts et Métiers in Vevey, Switzerland. His teachers there included Swiss artists Max Gubler, who painted in the expressionist style, and Johannes Itten, who also taught at the legendary Bauhaus in Berlin. While later living in Paris, Krille studied architecture at La Grande Chaumiere where he became associated with Sartre and the Existentialist movement.
