For more than half a century, Jean Ransy was prominent in the art activity in Hainaut and he received the award of Hainaut in 1955. His art knowledge of structure, history and technique and his love for Italian art forms the basis for the creation of his work, which is regarded as orderly and in the styles of Symbolism and Magic Realism.
