Jean-Claude Dagomir
  • Biography

Jean-Claude Dragomir (1931–1965) was a Romanian-born painter who became a notable figure in the Montmartre art scene in Paris. His work, primarily abstract compositions, reflects the vibrant artistic environment of mid-20th-century Paris. Dragomir was a close friend of composer Michel Magne, with whom he co-purchased the Château d'Hérouville in 1962, a site that later became renowned as a recording studio for prominent musicians. He was also set to collaborate with poet Bernard Dimey on an illustrated book; although the project was not completed due to Dragomir's untimely death in a car accident in 1965, Dimey's poems were later published as "Le Bestiaire de Paris."
