    Jean Philippe George-Julliard first studied at the historical painter F. Donné in Nantes. He then returned to Geneva, where he entered the studio of Alexandre Calame. He often accompanied him on trips to Italy and worked with him on large-format compositions. George-Julliard was one of the founders of the Cercle des Artistes de Genève and created numerous Alpine views, mainly from the region of Geneva, Bern and Savoy, which enjoyed great popularity in Switzerland and France.
