    Jerzy Gnatowski was a Polish artist born in 1928 in Lomza. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun and graduated in 1955. Gnatowski lectured painting techniques at the Department of Conservation at the same university in later years. He was a member of the British and Royal Academy of Watercolor. Gnatowski's works were exhibited at numerous individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Germany, France, Great Britain, the USA, and Canada. He participated in various exhibitions such as the National Exhibition of Young Painting, Sculpture, and Graphics in Sopot in 1963 and the Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin in 1970.
