    Jesus Urbieta studied Civil Engineering and worked as a surveyor. In 1983 he entered the National School of Plastic Arts, Painting and Engraving of the INBA in Oaxaca, he also studied in the Graphic Workshop of the House of Culture of the Isthmus and in La Esmeralda.

    In addition to painting with great skill, he experimented with sculpture and engraving; He was also a novelist, poet, cultural promoter, Zapotec translator and occasionally singer and guitarist.

    Currently his work is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Monterrey, the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City and the Würth Museum in Germany.
