    Wang Jian was born in the Chinese city of Harbin in the 1960s and holds a bachelor's degree in set design from the Central Academy of Drama. His academic background has allowed him to build stunning dramatic atmosphere in the scenes, sets and character images in his oil paintings.

    In Girl Waiting for a Postman, a girl sits waiting at the door of her house for the postman, longing for a letter from her loved ones. Wang evokes the love and care in her heart through his careful observation of emotion and his excellent painting technique.
