Cai Jin was born in Tunxi, Anhui Province, in China. She graduated from the Fine Art Department of AnHui Teachers University, Wu Hu, China in 1996, and the Advanced Oil Painting Program of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing in 1991.
