About Joe Arnold

    From Laramie, Wyoming, Joe Arnold is a western landscape painter whose family has lived there for five generations. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and then returned to Wyoming in 1980. There he became a part of the Wyoming artist-in-residence program in the public schools.

    He became Curator of the Ann Simpson Artmobile Program that travels to schools throughout the State, and also does oil and pastel landscape painting. He creates high altitude mountain panoramas, and some of his pastel studied have been done at the end of a rope, "feet hanging over a yawning precipice."
