    Joe Average RCA (1957)

    A well-known western Canadian painter, draftsman*, printmaker and photographer, Joe Average (née Brock David Tebbutt) was born in Victoria, British Columbia and has lived in Vancouver, British Columbia for about 40 years. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts*. His works are in the permanent collections of the Burnaby Art Gallery (Burnaby, B.C.), the Maltwood Museum (University of Victoria, B.C.), Simon Fraser University Gallery (Burnaby, B.C.), and the Vancouver Art Gallery (B.C.). He was honored by the Governor General of Canada with the 2002 Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal.
