    An important Canadian Inuit* carver, sculptor, draftsman*, and printmaker, Joe Talirunili (aka: Joe Talirunilik; aka: Joe Talirunnilik; aka: disc number* E9818) was born near Kuujjuarapik, Quebec and died in Puvirnituq (aka: Povungnituk), Quebec, where he had lived since the 1950’s. His “migration” carvings are iconic images of Inuit Art*. He is discussed in most of the comprehensive books about Inuit Art* and he is the subject of an article in the Canadian Encyclopedia.
