Notwithstanding a chronic eye disease, Dorner started a second creative period from 1822 and also became an honorary member of the Munich Art Academy. His artistic output included paintings, drawings and prints and rates as a characteristic example of the landscape painters, active in Munich. His artistic output included paintings, drawings and prints and rates as a characteristic example of the landscape painters, active in Munich. A professional lithographer, Dorner was also one of the first artists using that special technique.
