    John Schnurrenberger (1941)

    A well-known Canadian painter of cowboy and ranch life, John Ralph Schnurrenberger was born in Switzerland and grew up there, near Lucerne, in the village of Ennetburgen. He immigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1965 and later moved to Harper Ranch (near Kamloops), British Columbia, Canada. His current home is in Westwold (near Kamloops), British Columbia.

    Schnurrenberger’s mediums include oils, charcoal, acrylics, pencil, mixed mediums and limited edition prints. In addition to cowboy and wrangler genre* (cattle, horses, ranch life and ranch activities) his subjects include portraits, figures, nudes and landscapes. His styles are Plein Air* and Realism*.
