    Jorge Páez Vilaró (Montevideo, May 19, 1922 - November 26, 1994) was a painter, draftsman, gallerist, art collector and active Uruguayan cultural manager. He was founder of the Museum of American Art of Maldonado and promoter of numerous cultural undertakings in his region.

    Son of Dr. Miguel A. Páez Formoso, an eminent American lawyer and Rosa Vilaró Braga, he received, together with his brothers Miguel and Carlos, a humanistic formation of great cultural richness. He completed his studies in Industrial Accounting at the University of La Salle. As a visual artist, he represented Uruguay in the Sao Paulo Biennial (1963), the Venice Biennial (1964), the Córdoba Biennial (1966) and in numerous international exhibitions.
