    José de Zamora, better known as Pepe or Pepito Zamora, was a Spanish illustrator, costume designer, and painter whose work epitomized the elegance and theatrical flair of the Art Deco movement. He cultivated a refined and original style of drawing that was widely imitated during his lifetime, though nearly forgotten in the decades following his death.

    Zamora trained under Eduardo Chicharro and later worked in Paris with Paul Poiret, one of the leading couturiers of the Belle Époque. His designs—often fantastical and richly stylized—appeared in publications such as La Esfera, Nuevo Mundo, and Crónica, and he became a sought-after figure in both fashion and theatre circles.
