Josep Navarro Vives was an artist from Spain who was born in an unknown year. He moved to Barcelona as a child and began his artistic training at the School of Arts and Crafts and later at the Superior School of Fine Arts. Navarro won first prize at the University Painting Exhibition, which led to his participation in group exhibitions in Barcelona and Madrid. He received a scholarship from the French government to study at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. After further studies in London at Saint Martin's School of Art, he settled permanently in Barcelona in 1963.
