    JOSEPH SCOTT MACNUTT

    He was born January 11, 1885 at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyoming, as the son of lieutenant Albert S. McNutt, U. S. Army.

    He received his education at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. MacNutt conducted post -graduate research and published papers on public health issues. He was a statistician for the Pittsburgh Typhoid Fever Commission (Russell Sage Foundation), and a health officer in Orange, New Jersey. He published a manual for health officers (first of its kind), The Modern Milk Problem. After serving as an officer in the Sanitary Corps...
