    Joan Brull Vinyoles was a Spanish artist who trained at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona. He was influenced by realism and the Modernist movement, but his style evolved towards fin de siècle idealism. He was interested in history painting, genre scenes, and portraits, achieving great mastery in the latter. He participated in numerous group exhibitions in Madrid and Barcelona, as well as abroad in London and Paris.

    He was awarded several medals and honors for his work. Brull Vinyoles was a man of great culture and took an active part in the gatherings at Els Quatre Gats.
