    Education : Wellesley College, Art History in 1943; Graduate study at New School for Social Research with Henry Cowell in music composition and Leo Strauss in philosophy; 1937-1943 independent study with Alexander Brook, Maurice Sterne and Reginald Marsh at the Art Students League and with Zoltan Sepeshy at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, MI; 1943-1944 with Hans Hofmann.

    1945-1946 : lived and worked in studio on West 12th Street in New York; worked at Stanley William Hayter's Atelier 17....
