    June Harwood was born in Middletown, New York and received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Syracuse University and Master of Art degree from California State University at Los Angeles.

    Her training at Syracuse University in the 50''s, with an emphasis on the formal aspects of painting, predicted her interest in Hard-Edge, a term coined by her late husband, California art critic, Jules Langsner.

    The transition from Hard Edge painting to landscapes began in the early 80''s with an interest in aerial photography. She has exhibited widely on the West Coast since the mid 60''s and her paintings are included in collections including, California State University, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Newport Museum of Art and the Long Beach Museum of Art.

    Additionally to her career as an artist, Harwood taught art for many years and recently retired from Los Angeles Valley College.
