German painter, Karl Hauptmann was born in Freiburg in 1880 as son of a carpenter.  Since 1906 he worked in Freiburg as a freelance artist.  His most important works are winter landscapes of the Black Forest, the images fall primarily by its idealized realistic representation of the landscapes. Hauptmann was artistically a loner and joined no artist-Vorr. In the 40's acquaintance with Gustav Traub. Hauptmann devoted his painting, apart from a few exceptions of the early days, quite the fuss. and the architecture of the Black Forest....
